Introduction to the HSE Point of Care Tools Online

Course Outline

The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to multiple point-of-care tools which support the work of clinical staff to improve patient care and patient outcomes. The course covers: BMJ Best Practice, ClinicalKey and UpToDate and includes short, live demonstrations in addition to shared presentation slides. 

Audience

All HSE staff, particularly clinical staff

Learning Outcomes

1. Develop awareness of and learn the difference between a ‘point of care’ tool and a traditional medical database

2. Learn how to navigate our selection of PoC tools, how to set up personal accounts, CPD profiles, download the apps. etc.

3. Demonstrate how PoC tools can effectively aid clinical decision-making at the point of care or need
