This session is intended to demonstrate advanced searching techniques in the Embase database on the OVID platform.

HSE staff and authorised users of the HSE Library Service. Students on placement with the HSE are also welcome to attend.

  5. Keyword searching: proximity indicators, wildcards, limiters

  7. Saving your searches and creating auto alerts
  8. Editing and annotating your searches.

What do I need to consider in advance?

It can seem obvious and you may already have one, but a functioning computer -desktop or laptop or tablet - with a strong internet connection is a must.

Embase is accessible through IP on the HSE network. If you are accessing remotely, you will need to have your OpenAthens credentials to access Embase.
